Friday February 17 - February 28 LA 7

Dear Parents and Students -
The end of Trimester 2 is coming quickly to a close  on March 2.  The last day I will be accepting work will be Monday February 27.  Please note the following:

1.  All reading requirement books(free choice fiction, free non fiction, historical fiction and autobiography) should be finished and Response Journals should be written and turned in on or before February 27. (100 pts min).  EXTRA CREDIT will be given for up to four books with Response Journals.

2.  The final Home Reading Calendar will be due next Thursday February 23.

3.  We are currently reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.  Students should have two packets - one consisting of comprehension questions by chapter and one that begins with a character analysis chart.  It is my intent that we will be finishing this novel and accompanying packets by the end of this trimester.

4.  My classes will be beginning the third adoption trial - and last- sometime early next week called "StudySync"  We will be working with that textbook until the first of April.

5.  ADDITIONALLY beginning the first of March students will be writing a Renaissance Research paper assigned by both their SS and LA teachers.  This research paper will coincide with the field trip to The Getty Museum.  PLEASE sign your child's permission slip as it is due to me NO LATER than March 1.

TO  MY STUDENTS: IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO YOUR BEST WORK ALWAYS IN MY CLASS.  I WILL NOT ACCEPT ASSIGNMENTS THAT ARE NOT WELL DONE, WELL WRITTEN AND WELL THOUGHT OUT.

Parents and students, please feel free to email me though this site should you have any questions.
