play friends in welcome back from spring break I hope everyone enjoyed a nice restful week and is ready to dive into week 3 of online learning before I start talking about the new application we're going to be using I wanted to remind everyone to please continue submitting your book project to me online I did give you instructions on how to do that if you go ahead and click on. All down here you can assignment so this what you days of signment you guys were to complete spring break break it down and that's one of your writers notebooks that's going to be clip equipped into your writers notebook section of your binder and then I asked you to please follow these instructions right here to submit your work to me on on Office 365 so please if you disapproved your project please submit the written portion to me and Sharon and then also share a copy of a picture of your poster so I can grab that as well if you're doing the commercial option please take a video of yourself and send me that link so I can grade your work I know it's taken me a long time to get these Book Project and you're probably really excited to finally submit them and show me what you have created so for the next foreseeable future we are going to be diving into a novel we're going to be on The Wednesday Wars and I'm really excited to share this book with you guys cuz one of my very favorites to teach your assignment tomorrow is going to actually be an introductory activity to kind of get you warmed up for the Pine Tree in themes were going to discuss as a reasonable so for tomorrow we're going to be using teams you might have already started using teams and some of your other classes but just in case you have not I'm going to walk you through how to get there so the assignment is posted here and edilio and it says no the following assignment will be posted two teams at 8 p.m. on Tuesday for 7 this assignment will not going live until 8 a.m. tomorrow Tuesday Morning the assignment is going to be all the way from Tuesday through Thursday so this is a 3-day assignment 20 minutes per day and then I'll be your language arts work for each day about 20 minutes on this particular assignment per day you're going to do at your first step is to watch this instructional video right now then you're going to login to portal. Pvpusd.net I'm going to show you the following steps in just a moment they're going to finance like the team's icon they're going to select your language arts. put on the assignments chop and begin Wednesday Wars into activity Rudy facts and then you are going to complete and submit the assignment through teams by Thursday April 9th at 10 p.m. so once again you have 3 days to get this find it. Alright let's show you how to get into team so first you're going to go to your portal my looks a little different from yours cuz I'm a teacher but it has the same basic what you're looking for is want to find this purple teams icon right here is purple got a big cheetah has two little people are going to click on that and you are going to see all of the teams that you are on these are all the teams I'm a member of right now because I have all my language arts classes you should be able to see your language arts. If you're in. 1 it's going. grade 5 has mr. Shakespeare you're going to find your language arts team what you're going to do is you're going to click on it with Pretenders. One student you're going to click on it and you are going do season pass at the top here you click on the assignments job you should see an assignment pop-up says Wednesday Wars into activity Rudy facts and the due date as I mentioned before is 10 p.m. on Thursday so it also says schedule cuz it's not going to go live till 8 a.m. Tuesday morning so if you're watching it pass then it's July here's what you guys are going to work on complete this introductory activity to get ready to read The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt this activity asks you to explore pre-approved links please make sure you're only using these like slaves include on the worksheet in order to learn more about America 1960s in order to access the blue hyperlinks pressure control button while you click the link I think Mac users need to press Apple when they quit read the directions carefully and complete and submit this activity by 10 p.m. on Thursday April 8th okay it's worth ten points so let me show you what you're going to do this will open up on your computer and you can click edit in browser and make any changes to it that you want it will save the changes and then you can submit your completed activity to me so what you're going to be working on what you're going to be working on let me get out of edit mode alright so what you're going to be working on heater is I want to give you guys a little bit of the flavor of the world of The Wednesday Wars takes place in the 1960's in America in Upstate New York in the 1960s is a really special time in history the time and get you guys I'm excited to learn about it I want you to do a little bit of research on several different topics now I've actually pulled together the links for you guys are going to be doing is using the bloop Lynx you can explore other facts about this era in American history and pop culture may use complete sentences are not required do your best guys I know that some of these can I have more information than others are very best to take a few notes on each of the questions I've asked you this is just going to help us be able to discuss the ear a better as we move through the novel does the worksheet looks like that their topics the Vietnam War as one of the topics I want you to learn about there are links here that will take you to websites, what you're going to do is you're going to work to answer the following question in bullet points you know just a few notes for the Vietnam War for example and I won't go through everything bit by bit 450 Vietnam or where did it take place so it's fighting what were they fighting about and why was it worse controversial in the USA we're going to learn a little bit about 1960s music I know about the artists and songs fashion you're going to learn about Lyndon B Johnson he should sound familiar from Freedom Walkers or Richard Nixon Robert Bobby Kennedy mr. Walter Cronkite teen 60s New York Yankees and the author of the book Gary Schmidt when you're done you will submit this to me and I will be able to grade it right from the team's site Dance For You this is all brand new to me team so this is the first time we're using it hopefully it will go smoothly as you guys know if you have any questions whatsoever please go ahead answer email and I hope to be hearing a lot of great facts about the 1960s by Thursday at 10 p.m. I miss you guys and hopefully we'll get together again on and chat soon
