State Testing and Flag Football

yes I'm Amy and I'm joy and this is Mas cafeteria specials students get your free breakfast daily from 7:40 to 8:05 then lunch is also free daily as a reminder there will be no homework club during State Testing Marauder movie night is also unfortunately canceled Athletics our last home sports game of the year was yesterday May 8th against our cross town rival richest student bullet bullet journaling Workshop Mis will be holding a student bullet journaling Workshop after school from 3 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday May 15th attention all students the Mis booster club will be holding a mini cheer clinic on May 20th and 22nd from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. are you interested in cheerleading come and learn the basic cheer motions and a fun dance to register please visit the Mis website and scan the flyer the Legacy project is a biographical Art Exhibit that celebrates the ancestors of our students we are looking for students to submit their stories along with the photograph or on this prompt who in your family's history was inspiration to you and the stories will be displayed around campus at the end of the school year is short up to 300 words only prompt sheets can be picked up in the library these days coming up this Sunday May 11th it's a great time to say thank you to all the wonderful people who care for guide us and help shape Our Lives and is a hot top Evangelina and we're going to be interviewing the girls flag football team did you know this is the first mirrorless Pros flag football team let's see how the girls feel about it what's your name Nina Heisler and what position do you play I'm the quarterback how do you feel about being the first girls for your back I mean it's really fun thank you who am I here with today Natalie Chan so now in the tongue and what position do you guys play I rushed I play safety and I rushed and how do you guys feel about being on the first girls flag football team it's really cool very fun yay who am I here with hardly possum stal Ferrara I'm a lumen what's your guys' position on the flag football team I play safety and wide receiver I play wide receiver play Rusher awesome so what do you guys think of being on the first ever girls team I think that it's a really good opportunity because the boy scene they don't really drop the girls and we want the spare game I think it's cool cuz we're like the first ones to be playing girls flag football for like middle school so I think it's cool I think it's cool cuz I've never played football and it was like pretty competitive so I'm pretty happy and we want to spare a game awesome thank you who am I here with Violet Lana Ella what's your guys' position on the flag football team Center cornerback cornerback what do you guys think of being the first on the girls flag football team it's really fun it's really fun there should be a spirit game awesome thank you testing has been going on for the past week today is the last day for language arts Sky Edwardo and Kennedy with plasma hey realest my name is Kennedy I'm here to talk about State Testing with Mr Barbara hey Kennedy test is helpful for students to take I do I think uh State Testing is an awesome time for our students to demonstrate their pride in their learning over the course of the Year our students have done an excellent job over the last few years and just demonstrating growth in their progress and math language arts through this in these classes help our students well the science test the language arts tests and math tests allow students the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge that they learned over the course of the school year and again our students have done a great job in all 3 tests demonstrating growth in their performance and just sharing everything they've learned over the course of the year so they should take a lot of pride in this test and give their best effort do you think our school performed well on this test this year I have great confidence that our school is going to do well uh we've got a great group of students that have been put in a lot of time and effort and good work in and uh so I'm really excited to see how well all of our students at mirrorless do on our assessments this year all right thank you for your time all right thanks Kennedy just pinch Market what's up mirrorless I'm Eduardo and this is Jackson Charles Daniel Gregory and Frank Anthony anos Junior and we're gonna be interviewing them about State Testing how do you guys feel about State Testing that's kind of boring I don't really like it it's all right cuz I don't get homework how do you guys feel about having to do block schedule um it's cool because I only have to go to 3 in my classes today okay and yeah uh I don't know I don't really care about it hello I am Eduardo and this is Mr I will be asking you some questions about State Testing is that okay absolutely okay um do you think that this test is helpful for students to take first assesses whether any learning took place that's the most important support part of any test it holds accountability for the teachers that they taught the students what they're supposed to know it holds accountability for the school district that we're making sure that our academic rigor is intact and carried through throughout the whole school year it's important for students also to show whether they actually learned throughout the whole school year so what we're looking for is not just students that perform really well but also some students that might have shown some gaps of some kind and those gaps of knowledge is really important because next year we might try to find ways to help students students learn better it could be through intervention classes whether they're after school or in school so to all of you how you perform this hearing doesn't impact how you're going to be taught next year so it's really important that you do well okay do you think that block schedule is necessary for for this type of testing we're going to try something new this year is it we finish science teachers is the same thing testing isn't necessary for their test but I do know from a lot of our language arts teacher that block test block schedule is important for their test because it's different there's writing component which you don't find in science or math necessarily so we're excited to try out a new schedule this year where is not blocked but remember if you're going to PV High you've got 4 years of block scheduling so no whining about it do you think our school will perform well this year well every every single year our school has always shown growth growth is really important so what we're looking for is our students perform the best they absolutely can and we look to see that every single year our score is improved consistently and we've seen that over the years uh so yeah I do think students are going to show uh growth throughout all subjects whether it's science math or or language arts so yes I do see expect to see a lot of growth that's it for me our last name see you next time bye better tell them what the heck they just may run away from you
