What's happening tomorrow?

Textbook return is in science TOMORROW. Mrs Edelstein has asked that you PLEASE look in your lockers (and at home) for overdue library books. The school will take away all kinds of activities until you turn them in.
 
Please have your textbooks and any overdue library books at the beginning of science class
 
Drop dead deadline for any work during this trimester that does not have a grade is due tomorrow by the end of the day. (See instructions at lab table G in class.)
 
Finally, bring in your empty 2L plastic bottle by Thursday!!!  We're going to save the EGGstronaut John Glenn!!!

Hi Science 8 students and families!
It's that time again! Please submit all trimester 3 work you do not have a grade for by the end of school on Wed May 31. Assignments turned in after that date may not be graded. Please check Aeries for mistakes, missing grades, etc.
 
Also, please bring in an empty 2L bottle and cap on Thursday. You'll need it to make your rocket!!!

Drop dead deadline to turn in assignments for trimester 2 is Wed Feb 22

Hey everyone!!
 
The end of trimester two will be here before you know it. Now is your opportunity to get in any work that has not been graded. Last day to turn in work that needs to be graded is WED FEBRUARY 22 at the end of your class period. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions. Please turn in your assignments NOW. (Follow the directions above the "slots" to turn in and pick up graded work by the deadline) :)

New science notebook needed after winter break

After winter break, students will need a new science notebook - either a spiral or a composition notebook. Just like the old one, try to use one that is 100 sheets/200 pages and college ruled. Please bring both this new notebook and your old one the first day back from winter break on Jan 3.  8o)

Drop dead deadline for the first trimester

All missing, late, incomplete assignments or assignments that needed to be redone for credit can be turned in up until the end of school on Wednesday, November 16. Assignments will not be accepted after that date. Please see the class syllabus for turning in work due to excused absences. Please don't wait until it is too late! 🙂
 
 

Final extra credit for the first trimester

On November 14 there will be an extra supermoon! It's time to do a little research and share what a supermoon is. Details on the assignment can be found on OneNote in the extra credit folder.

Breaking News! We've just received word.....

You are allowed to use ONE side of ONE 3x5 index card for the exam! You may write - in your own handwriting- whatever notes you need for the Ch12.1 exam. This card will be turned in with your test. 
 
Remember to check out the study guide posted on OneNote and focus on IN 20-33  :) 

Coming Up.....

Tomorrow: 40 points notebook check  
(you will be graded on table of contents, handouts attached on the correct pages, completeness, accuracy) 
- bring a calculator
- have IN 31 and 33 ready to be graded. Ms Benjamin will walk around and check assignments during the notebook check.

Still grading assignments IN 15, 16, & 22

Hi everyone!
If I graded your assignments on Friday, your grades have been entered in Aeries. Remember, if you haven't seen me yet, make sure you see me Monday during the Motion and Average Speed Stations Lab. Once I grade your assignments, I will update your scores that day.  
Extra credit has also been graded! Awesome job on vocab. cards and your cleanup paragraphs!!!!

Coastal Cleanup Totals at Cabrillo Beach

Awesome job to all who went out and helped clean up the shoreline, parks, and neighborhoods! Whether you picked up the big pieces or the small pieces, your contribution was greatly appreciated!
 
Here are the totals for Cabrillo Beach 
Number of people signed up: 188
Trash: 244.03 kg (538 lbs)
Recycle: 63.05 kg (139 lbs)
Styrofoam: 1.45 kg (3.20 lbs) 
       One 8 ounce styrofoam cup is 4.4 grams. 
                1.45 kg = 329.88 cups!!!!
Total: 308.53 kg (680.2 lbs)
         1.64 kg per person (3.62 lbs per person!!)
