Chapter 3 Lesson 1 - What is Density

Today you completed a lesson on Changes of State - Freezing.  If you did not finish all of the questions for the activity in class they are homework.  Please see attached notes and activity for support. 

 

Today you completed a lesson on Condensation.  If you did not complete all of the activity questions during class they are homework.  Please see attached Chapter 2 Lesson 3 Activity sheet for support. 

Today in class you finished lab 2.2 Changing State - Evaporation.  You needed to answer #1-6 and file your lab work in your folder.  In addition you read and annotated an article on Changing States of Matter.  There will be a quiz on this tomorrow - there is a study stack on Edmodo.  

 

Homework:  Finish the States of Matter worksheet and study for quiz.

Today we completed 1.2 Molecules in Motion - make sure you file your notes in the science section of your binder and be reader for a binder check.  

Homework:  Complete #1-7 Chapter 1 Lesson 2 activity if you did not finish it in class.

Today we completed Chapter 1 Lesson 1 - Molecules Matter.  Make sure you completed the activity in class today and answered questions 1 - 9.  File this in the science section of your notebook.  

 

Attached you will find today's notes and an attachment with the results to the activity.  

Today in class we took the open note science quiz.  Tonight you need to clean out your binder of all old science work.  You will begin a new unit on Monday.  Also go onto AERIES and check your grade.  

There is an open note quiz in Science tomorrow.  You need to go through your notes and be familiar with where things are located.  In Support today we spent 30 minutes reviewing the Waves notes in preparation for the test.  We added some items to our notes and highlighted important points.  The notes we reviewed are attached to this email.  Look for items that are highlighted and in a different color ink. Make sure you have these items in your notes.  

Today in class we took notes and completed a worksheet - please see attached. 

 

On Thursday you have an open note test - please make sure your notebook is in order and you are ready to take the quiz!

Mrs. Hargis was absent today - students watch Bill Nye the Science Guy video. 

Bring a shoebox with a lid in for 2 points of extra credit.

Today in Science students took a quiz on Waves.  After the quiz they checked their answers to the lab from yesterday and asked questions.  Finally the students read from the Green Science book page 89 and answered questions 1-10.  

 

Homework is to bring in a shoebox for extra credit.  

Open note Waves test next Thursday - it is very important to take notes everyday in class.  If you cannot listen and take notes at the same time make sure you are printing the notes out daily and putting them in your binder.  

 

Homework:  Go onto Mrs. Hargis's Edlio page - select 8th grade - read the Electromagnetic Spectrum Powerpoint - first 6 slides.  Powerpoint is also attached here - you should print out the slides for your notes - do not print them in color and select six slides to a page.  

Homework:  Complete side one of the Transverse Waves handout - use your notes from yesterday.  

 

There were no notes today in class - make sure you file your lab worksheet in the science section of your notebook.

We started a new unit today - Waves.  You will need to take notes in class and keep them in the science section of your binder.  If you are having difficulty taking notes you can print out the notes attached and put them in your binder.  There is no text book for this section so it is very important to pay attention during class and take notes when directed by Ms. Hargis.
