Wrote a the missing dialogue between Helena and Demetrius where she tells Demetrius that Hermia and Lysander are running away.

In English today Mrs. Bucklew passed out the Informative/Explanatory Essay Organizer.  You will need to use two of the texts we have read to support your essay.  This will be a four paragraph essay.  The thesis can contain either one way or two ways that show how the Civil War changed Americans and their ideas about freedom.  Mrs. Bucklew modeled how to do this using Anne Frank and the prompt:  How did Anne Frank endure being in hiding.  See attached sample of how to complete the graphic organizer. 

 

You must turn in the orange graphic organizer filled out as part of your Pre-write - just the back side.  

 

For work completed in Support look inside the Informative Essay Extended Writing Project folder.  

Today in class we started work on our Informative Essay - collecting information from the various articles we have read over the past two months.  The rough draft of the essay will be due on April 19 and the final draft will be due on April 23.  

There is a Novel Celebration in class tomorrow - make sure you bring your novel.  Review the questions you will be answering tonight.  Novel Celebration questions are attached to this message.

Today's notes are attached.  If you did not finish and submit your Sullivan Ballou annotations and questions from the Close Read done in class today please make sure you do that before class on Monday.

Library Permission Slip - past due

If you did not finish questions 1-5 on Sullivan Ballou in class make sure you complete them for homework.  You do not need to write the answer on a separate piece of paper - annotate your book and answer in the column.  

Should be finished with page 155 - 158 in Unit 7 of the grammar packet

Homework:  Yellow permission slip for library field trip due tomorrow

                     Complete first two pages in the Chapter 7 grammar packet

                     Read for 20 minutes

Remember Mrs. Bucklew and Mrs. Thompson will be absent tomorrow.  You need to answer all of the questions for the Narrative of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave on page 398 in your Study Sync book.  We reviewed the annotations in Support today - they are attached to this post along with the notes for today's class.

                    Bring permission slip for the library field trip to school by Tuesday. 

Today in class you read chapter 9 in the Frederick Douglass Narrative - re read this chapter at home.Worked on annotating Study Sync pages 394 - 397.  

 

Homework:  Read for 20 minutes - get field trip slip to the library signed by a parent.  

 

Mrs. Thompson was in a meeting today so there are no notes.
