Please note the attached "Maniac Magee Plot Diagrams" and "Maniac Magee Sample Summary Paragraph" for support in completing your assignment this week. Please see attached weekly agenda for the required reading and assignments this week for week 3 of Maniac Magee. I'm also attaching the updated Chapter Summaries, Elements of a plot diagram which will be helpful and useful for this week's assignments. Please make every attempt to attend our regular scheduled Zoom on Tuesday @ 1:00. We will continue our discussion from last week's reading (Chapters 7-14) and also discussing the elements of a plot diagram as it relates to Maniac Magee.

We are continuing with week 2 of Maniac Magee. Please join our Zoom at 1:00 on Tuesday when we will be discussing the chapters of the book that we've read so far. Also, please feel free to reference the printed copy of Maniac Magee attached to support your reading and comprehension activities. When working on the "character log", please work off the same log you already started. I'm attaching my log with the characters introduced so far. Please open the weekly agenda for the attached links for the audio version of the book and comprehension activities for the week. I'm also attaching a chapter summary support to help you keep up with the events in the book.

Language Arts for the week of 3/23/2020:
All required assignments for this week are posted in the weekly agenda below. Please see it attached and click on corresponding link within the agenda page to access your Monday morning warm-up via Forms. Your Readworks story can be accessed and submitted via readworks.org (classcode 2mxdug) is called "Battle of the Binge Eating". Please read and answer the comprehension questions. At the end of the week, you will be required to write an opinion writing piece stating a claim for or against competitive eating. Please see the attached OREO outline and notes to help you complete. Please also remember to complete daily reading and/or iReady Reading lessons for at least 20-minutes daily. All work should be submitted to me by this Friday, 3/27/2020.

Language Arts Assignment for the week of 3/16/2020: Please see attached for your Language Arts assignment titled, "The Boy with Buttery FIngers". You may print and work directly off this copy OR sign in to the readworks.org website using your login information (classcode- 2mxdug). Included is a sample of a 4-part summary that you are already familiar with from our practice in class. Please complete a 4-part summary for this story using the 4-part summary template attached. There is a sample for you to reference if you need a reminder. All parts of assignment can be emailed or due upon our return to school on April 6th.
Also, you are also responsible for spending an additional 20-minutes on iReady Reading daily (log in to pvpusd.portal.net) OR 20-minutes of reading a book for pleasure. If you choose to spend your 20-minutes reading along with completing the reading log that I've attached below.
