Instructions

We are going to be constructing our own Video Game using an online program call Gamefroot.  We will be working through a few tutorials and them constructing our own game in the next few weeks. Please watch the introduction video and set up your account with the attached link. Just watch the video and set up the account at this point. Once you have the account set up. Turn in the assignment....nothing to attach as I will see that you are a member

 

After you have followed the link you will enter as a GUEST...look in the upper right corner for the G in a circle. click on G and edit the account by creating an account with your name included. (must have your name or you will not be identified for lesson credit).

You will be placed in the Miraleste Online group.

Robot Dance Party

Playground: Grid Map

Challenges:  

Level 1: Program the VR Robot to turn, move forward, move backward, and spin. Play a song from your music collection, and have the VR Robot dance along.

Level 2: Program the VR Robot to do the following dance. Include a pause between each dance move. Try your dance in real life as the VR Robot runs the project!

Spin 3 Times.

Step to the Right.

Step to the Left.

Freestyle! (add 2 additional moves of your choice)

Level 3: Program a dance routine for your VR Robot. Include at least 3 turns and 3 drive commands. Use loops to repeat a section of the dance. Play a song from your music collection and have your VR Robot dance along with the music. 

Since you cannot attach the music please rename your program before you turn in ..for example Bustamove

Art Canvas- Draw a house

 

Instructions

Playground: Art Canvas

Challenge:

Level 1: Program the VR Robot to draw a house on the Art Canvas using the Pen block. Use a square for the house and triangle for the roof. The shapes do not have to be perfect. 

Level 2: Program the VR Robot to add a garage to the side of the house. Use the Set pen color block to make the color of the garage different from the house. 

Bonus - Level 3: Decorate your house by adding windows, a door, a chimney, or other decorations. Be Creative!

VEX Robotics Virtual Reality - Coding

Our next section will be on robotics and we will be using VEX virtual world to program a robot to move around. This will be block programming and completed items will be uploaded to Microsoft Teams. Distance Drive Challenge

Playground: Grid Map

Challenges:  

Level 1: Program the VR Robot to drive forward 3 grid squares. How far should you program the VR Robot to move if you want it to travel 3 grid squares?

Level 2: Program the VR Robot to drive forward 6 grid squares, turn around, and drive back 6 grid squares. How many degrees did you have to turn to face the way you came? What is the total distance traveled? Use a calculator and/or pencil and paper to find out.

Level 3: Program the VR Robot to drive in a square. Make each side of the square 3 grid squares long. What is the area of your square in mm? Use a calculator and/or pencil and paper to find out.

Helpful Hints: 

Each square in the Grid Map measures 200mm by 200m

We will be following the SketchUp tutorials that we looked at in class during our first week together. However we will be adapting them to work with SketchUp Web which has a different look than our classroom version. Please watch my videos for information but also watch the tutorials which I have attached links too.
