  1. Explore 1: What Are the Chances? -  Read through and complete the activity. Be sure to follow the directions and fill out the data table for all 6 plants. (Due Friday April 17th)

               1 Pollen dispersed by hummingbirds.

     Original Environmental Conditions

       Lives in very acidic soil with 10% clay. Received rain two days per week. Eaten by deer.    Needs partial sunlight.

     New Environmental Conditions

         The die rolled a six.The deer carried the seed away to an area where it rains six days per week, has soil that is nearly all clay, and has complete shade.

     Prediction for Survival/Adaptation

    This soil would not allow the seed to grow; there would most likely be too much water and not enough sunlight. If the seed were able to grow, there would not be any animals around to help with reproduction. Multiple flowers would be needed in order to self-pollinate by wind.

 1. Read - Reproduction in Plants and Animals Stemscopedia- You will find this assignment when you login to the Stemscopes app in the PVPUSD portal. (portal.pvpusd.net)
 
2. As you read the article make sure you highlight and annotate the reading. For example highlight important terms, and main ideas. Also include and questions you my have.
 
3. Complete the "Try Now" section of the article. This will be found towards the bottom of the article. 
 
This assignment will be turned in Friday April 10. Do not turn it in early! You will lose excess to the article if you do. You will need this information for the next assignment.

1. Explore 3 Engineering Solution- Design a Flower
2. For the Brainstorm and Research section make sure to record all research and information about the design of your flower. 
3. For Design Plan make sure to include all the necessary components of the flower and label them. write a statement that includes what part of your design attracted the animal pollinator. 
4. You do not need to complete the following portions of this assignment- Build and Test, Refine and Redesign, Retest and Finalize, or Presentation Plan. 
5. This assignment is to be turned in April 10. Make sure to try in the Stemscopedia assignment at this time as well.
