Course Description

Literature, art, maps, and architecture:  the world is filled with amazing things that allow us to look into and learn from our past.  In our class, we will take a world tour that will enable us to journey to the ends of the Earth in search of these important artifacts.

Answers to Monday Night's Homework

1b.  The dry climate of the Sahel would affect plant life and the ability to farm.  The rain forest would also affect occupations, housing, clothing, and transportation.
 1c.  Answers should vary but you should know the type of weather and physical aspects in each region.
2a. Two important West African mineral resources are salt and gold.
2b.  Salt came form dried ancient lakes, and gold came from the southern forests.
2c. Miners kept the locations of the gold mines secret so they could control the gold trade.
