Tuesday: CW: Finish/go over answers to FW#6.5 Poetry Analysis Q's 1-6; begin discussing FW#7 "Meet Hate with Love" Poem.
HW R/R 10 mins; brainstorm FW#7 "Meet Hate with Love" Poem
Wednesday: CW: Continue FW#7 "Meet Hate with Love" Poem.
FW#7 Meet Hate with Love Poem:
Write a 20 line poem (at least 2 stanzas) addressing Martin Luther King, Jr.’s philosophy of "meeting hate with love." Be sure to use at least 3 examples of figurative language: i.e. metaphors, similies, personification, hyperbole, alliteration and/or idiom). Highlight the 3 times that you use Figurative Language.
HW: R/R 10 mins; finish FW#7 "Meet Hate with Love" Poem (due tomorrow)
Thursday: CW: Turn in FW#7; Create Valentine Acrostic Poems.

Friday: CW: Read Chapters 5-6 in Freedom Walkers. Continue working on FW#2 People Log and begin FW#8 Newspaper Notes Ch. 6 (summarize the events in the chapter using bullet points).
Monday - Thursday nights read and record 10 minutes on your HRC January (due this Friday, Feb. 1st).
Monday: Walk through Yellow Ribbon Week Gallery. Complete WN#4B Yellow Ribbon Week Response: Write about a piece that moved you or that you related to. Describe it. Why did it move you? Explain. And/Or write about how you would help a person through the challenge described. What advice would you give? Explain.
Homework: R/R 10 mins; continue working on your Biography "Outline."
Tuesday: CW: Continue working on Biography Outline/begin Biography Essay.
Monday - Thursday nights read and record 10 minutes on your HRC January (due Friday, Feb. 1st).

Tuesday: CW: Compare Original Monsters to Friend Monsters. Turn in Monster Project: Your monster, your description/essay, and your friend's monster. Go over the directions to the Biography Project.
