As part of PTSA’s commitment to our community, and in recognition of the Month of the Military Child, we are holding a donation drive for the Airman’s Attic, a local volunteer-based program designed to reduce some cost of living expenses to families stationed in the Los Angeles area by providing needed items. The Airman’s Attic also has a Loan Locker that offer assistance to military families in transition to or from the Los Angeles area by supplying housewares on a temporary basis.
PTSA will be collecting donated items during the last week of April. We are asking that all of our Miraleste families help support the Airman’s Attic by donating gift cards to:
• Lowe's
• Home Depot
• Target
• Ralphs
In addition to the gift cards, the Airman’s Attic would also greatly appreciate any and all of the following items:
• clothing for adults and children
• all baby items
• shoes
• bedding
• books
• movies
• air mattresses
• air deodorizer
• housewares
• basic supplies (toilet paper, trash bags, Swiffer & refills),
• Clorox wipes, paper towels, gloves, masks, Lysol disinfectant (for kid’s playroom)
• toys
• furniture
• storage bins and shelving for the shed that is used to store the items.
• Formal Wear - is greatly appreciated!
Please note that the following goods cannot be accepted: mattresses, hazardous materials, undergarments and broken toys.
Items can be dropped in the Parent Resource Center (next to Room 103), during the week of April 24, and during the following times at the MIS Parking Lot in the corner near the track where the Christmas Tree Lot was held:
Friday, April 28
Drop-off: 7–10 a.m.
Pick-up: 2:30–3:45 p.m.
Saturday, April 29
9–4 p.m.
