Dear Parents of MIS 8th graders,
There will be many fun ways our 8th graders are going to celebrate their final year at Miraleste, and one of them is the 8th Grade School Day at Disneyland on Thursday, April 18th.
We have been working with Disneyland to confirm they have reserved enough tickets for our 8th grade class on Thursday, April 18th, and Disney has shared that to guarantee enough tickets at our group rate, we must purchase the tickets more than 60 days before our trip.
Therefore, we will be collecting payment the week of Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2nd. The LAST DAY TO PURCHASE: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND
The details for the 8th Grade Day at Disneyland are:
1. Students will need to be dropped off at MIS TAB by 7 am on Thursday, April 18th.
2. Students should return back to MIS by 9:45 or 10:00 pm that night. The school will send out communication to 8th grade parents that night when we leave the park to give a more accurate return time.
3. Students will have one mandatory check-in during their time at Disneyland. The check-in time will be between noon and 1 pm, and students will be told where the check-in location is. The rest of the time they will get to spend with their friends at Disneyland.
4. Please provide your child with money for food that day.
5. Students must ride the school-provided bus transportation. Students may not be driven by parents to or from Disneyland.
6. Students are not required to attend this field trip. If a student does not attend, they are expected to attend school on that day or will be marked absent.
If your student is going to Disneyland for MIS 8th Grade Disney Day, you and your student must do the following by the week of 1/29-2/2.
First, parents, please complete the permission slip for your 8th grade student sent through your Aeries parent portal. (If you did not receive the email with the attached permission slip, please make sure you have turned on (clicked) that you will receive all notifications. If it is only clicked on emergency, you will not get the email.)
Next, your student will go to the table in front of the Front Office to purchase their ticket and pay the bus fee. Bring cash or check made out to MIS Booster Club in the amount of $150 before school or during lunch the week of 1/29-2/2. Please note, the Front Office cannot collect your payment until the permission slip is completed. If your student tries to pay for their ticket and the permission slip has not yet been completed online, they will be directed to call you and ask you to complete the permission slip before payment can be received.
When your student turns in their payment to the Front Office between January 29 and February 2, they will get to sign up for which bus they would like to ride. Students will not be able to request a bus for their friends who are not there. Students may only sign up for their bus request if both the permission slip has been completed and the payment has been turned in.
If they have a Magic Key Pass that they plan on using on April 18th and want to attend 8th Grade Disney Day with their class, the student will need to make their own reservation online through Disneyland Reservations and then purchase only the bus transportation through the Front Office. Do not wait to make your personal Disneyland reservation, because we cannot guarantee there will be reservations available. Bring your cash or check payable to “MIS Booster Club” in the amount of $35 for bus transportation during the week of 1/29-2/2.
If the cost of the field trip is a hardship for your family, please contact Mr. Lehault directly at [email protected], to discuss the option of a scholarship. We do not want the cost to be the reason your child does not attend.
We look forward to celebrating this incredible group of students, and we hope they will have a memorable day together on April 18th!
