Miraleste is excited to offer AVID 7 and AVID 8 for the 2026-2027 school year. Current 6th and 7th graders are
eligible to apply for AVID 7 (two trimesters) and AVID 8 (year-long).
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college-readiness program designed to help students excel
academically and prepare for future success. In middle school, AVID offers personalized support to improve study
habits, organization, and critical thinking skills. AVID students participate in tutorial, engaging activities and learn
how to set and achieve goals, all while being part of a supportive community of motivated peers and teachers.
Through AVID, students build confidence, become stronger students, and start their journey toward high school
and beyond. Students, if you're ready to challenge yourself, improve your grades, and get ready for college, AVID is
for you!
Student informational meetings at lunch:
Thursday, 3/5: current 7th grade
Tuesday, 3/10: current 6th grade

Family Informational Meeting: Wednesday, 3/11 @ 5:00 PM in the MIS TAB
This meeting is for current 6th and 7th grade families interested in AVID 7 and AVID 8 for the 2026-27 school year.
Site Administrator, Counselor/AVID Coordinator, AVID Elective teacher, and current AVID students will provide a
detailed overview of the AVID program and answer any questions
