Welcome to 7th Grade Science with Ms. Hargis!
I aim to teach students how science works: how to observe carefully, measure accurately, question thoughtfully, analyze critically, and communicate clearly. Beyond content knowledge, I strive to develop transferable skills that empower students to think independently and make informed decisions in their lives.
I will guide students in becoming scientifically literate citizens who can evaluate evidence, recognize misinformation, and understand the role of science in society. I will model responsible and thoughtful use of technology, including when and how to use AI as a tool for learning rather than a shortcut for thinking.
I want students to ask better questions, not just seek quick answers. I will honor the innovators and diverse thinkers who built our scientific understanding, while inspiring excitement for new discoveries and future possibilities.
Above all, I hope students leave my classroom with a lasting appreciation for the natural world and a sense of wonder that continues long after the course ends.
