alright so our next lesson has to do with taking everything you've learned in SketchUp and turn all the way until the table to make a container house now container houses are becoming very popular they are taking the containers that you see them the docks there are literally hundreds and thousands of these that are now disused that are lying around the world for Friday reason sorry there was a worn-out or they're no longer needed by the companies that own them and they are trying to come up with ways to giving you a couple of links that are on the Elio page and also on teams that will show you how people are using these containers there is a single container house used by a couple in Australia and that's a really nice sustainable house and then there's the show me houses that are being used for student housing in Denmark as are showing up all over the place there in Venice California Hermosa Beach for coming up with really good ideas on how to use these we're going to create a container house now one of the ways that you can go to create the container houses for to consider all of your layout first of all you're going to be allowed to use for containers but your house you contain all the things to sustain a family if there was some sort of natural disaster so you can think about the house you're currently in and and the place is that you're using currently trapped in your house imagine that your house is this another house what do you need in the house actually make it sustainable so in order for that to happen to create this house around a family of four of your standard American family and you're going to be allowed to use for container shipping containers are a standard size that was designed for the shipping industry about 50 years ago they are 8 feet wide and 20 feet long and they are 8 feet tall 21 ft tall and if it's rear rear-wheel tunnel solar AC tall and 8 feet by 20 seat fits perfectly on a lane on the highway so fucken pull it around so they're built to be so they can contain atoms but they also make them useful housing pieces as well they are sustainable because they're made from metal of course and they can be snapped together for like when you bring things in from the 3D Warehouse make sure you bring some that are actually the correct sizing and you'll be able to fill the household items from the Tree warehouse the kitchen and then you have a living area somewhere where you can go sit potentially you could be a table for you to eat as well that would allow you to sit and talk to people and then of course there are some bedrooms you have so all those going for a two-bedroom so you can share bedroom so you can put on your parents keeping a separate room cuz that would be more Western culture where were so those are the pieces that you have I didn't see your house you have to figure out how to lay that out to the first piece I'm going to show you today is how you would consider laying out your house and I'm switch cameras here so that you can see a couple of different things all right so what I've done is going on to the internet and printed off some graphic so you can see have a couple sheets of graph paper here and the first I just want an orange to feel you could see this better but what I do is create the containers themselves this is quarter inch graph paper and if I just count off 8th 8 and then I can 20 there's 20 so I'm just going to mark the eight feet by 20 feet that is a container then what I'm going to do some to cut that out so you're my first container so this is one container right here I'm going to very quickly duplicate this and then one more time all right so what I've done is I we just jump forward there so I now have four of these rectangles and what I want to do is figure out how I'm going to lay them out now if you actually go online you will find that there are literally hundreds of different plans that people have laid out houses based on this pattern some people just do a standard for cross some people have done a different angles is a h some people double stack them by placing in the top of another so you can see them over hanging garage different plans out there you are not the first person to try to as I said to you before many of these have been already created so what I've done is make these little patterns here so that I could go ahead and create the shape so here we go for the first thing lay one out and I'll place my first container right here and then I can decide where I want to put my other container almost like this for the Rock background paper and then I can go and I can slide down so it looks like this and I would be four containers right there or I could do I could slide to the outside slightly off. Them so they're connected but then have a patio in the center I'm just going to move that outside equal can I have this for patio area in the center here which I can't use the space for kitchen or some people do the offset pattern they're going to offset them so it looks something like this you can do that you could technically do it like this of course and just off the X Files the paper to go like that and then as you saw on the Australian house they actually space some just like this and then put a hallway that connected them in between and you can do small hallways to connect them in between I just can't use that space for a medium living space or anything else so you can decide how you want to lay yours out do the offset that I showed you I'm going to go here to here here I so there we go I've got mine laid out all I'm going to do now is just very quickly draw all around you so I'll just mark this for myself so I can see where are my containers would like take that off North here you got to put one off there and my top one fix that I can't hold bladder and there I have all four containers laid out for myself I know exactly where they're going to hit tonight to figure out where I'm going to place things around the house where I want the flow to go now first thing is there zombies I'm going to have some door so anytime I have a door when I have an opening here and then some sort of door marks like that I'm just going to be tours locations on both sides he's going to be a big patio door is Fordham a couple of more interesting face right here I might have like a glass door going out to my patio here and obviously need some through the front entrance to my house worth of front going to be I'm going to make my front Lace things out for myself right here I must say this is going to be my kitchen this is going to be my living room and then I'm going to have my bedroom Sears going to be bedroom one and bedroom 2 that's a bit of a general idea of where I'm going to play sling okay now can I go back in and take a look at some of the examples that are here you'll see that there are very specific ways that okay so you can see here that there is a crazy a day for for container house plan here you'll see that they've gone very specifically and you'll see if they have the kitchen here didn't work the cabinets all the way around the square the house so we might do the same thing we want to lay that out for ourselves so if I start I can go ahead and sort of like begin to add my kitchen I want to come out couple of bum where's the create the shape and remember on this 1/4 inch is going to equal 1 so that's going to be 12 in which is the same length as my Roar so remember that now if I make them two squares it's going to be too which if I was to measure my table I'm sitting very close to being correct I think it's no work for us here because we're we have tight spaces so it's going to be 24 inches wide I'm just going to run my kitchen cabinets down here for a like and then he's got to figure out where I'm going to put things just I I think we'll be on the end here I'm going to put my refrigerator so that's going to be right here so that's going to be my fridge and then I'm going to have a stove I'll put that right there and a kitchen sink and I've created what's known as like a galley kitchen which is just going across so there's my kitchen sink and then I would have cabinets here so that's going to my my kitchen area right there at the far end here I want to give myself a little bit of space here and I'm going to put a small table for people to sit at I got a couple of right there we're my kitchens now we have a place to sit that's done I can move on to my next phase I'm going to do a couch here so I'mma put my TV over on this wall where's my TV and then I'm going to have a couch going down this wall my couch at least 24 inches wide can you give an account of an L-shaped because the natural action I want to be able to open up these doors right here so people can get out to the outside make a feeling that bigger in terms of space of course like him to be a little coffee table Mustafa right here where's my couch build a big butt can't get the idea where's my couch and then it was flight over and I want to have access to a bathroom so I'm going to create a little hallway here that leads into the bedroom but I'll have a door here I'm going to have my bathroom where's my contacts room open the bathroom door of Polly put the I was here and then I'll have a shower and I'll put the shower here and think over here and then I just need to do my bedroom I'm going to be the bedroom here and I think it's going to have some bunk beds in it I'll put the bunk beds down the side and those are going to be released for so 1 + 1 2 3 4 and then 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 or 7 feet long Marengo bunk beds and then we'll give him a little dresser right here so I can store all their stuff so the only thing I needed to do with my last bed in this is going to be my master bedroom all the door into that off our living room and then when I have a nice big bed in here again I forgot to go this direction right here it's going to be bigger than the parents supposed to feed 60 wide Anthony Tellez on hue Telos on the back of my stress were here and I'm going to how long do I hafta no not make it bigger if you don't do another bathroom right here just go to parents house somewhere they can go take a shower shower here and then we'll do the toilet over here minisink right next to it so there we go I have now created the kitchen to living room that's your parents in the bathroom I can add some green pics features supposed to be some rain barrel what does RB rain barrel could be a solar panel draw the solar panel without having it on there so I can see a solar panel and this is my patio area I can add a table or patio table and chairs out here I'm already going to go sit on the outside and I'm done my layout is complete so that point my first purse what is the first thing I would like you to do is to complete your layout you can take a picture of that for me and just send it to me along with your peace so I see a picture a picture of your layout Miami questions you can let me know again look at the examples online take a look at the videos and hopefully that will make sense to you as you begin to lay that out okay
