Important Message from Mr. H

Dear Marauder Families,

I hope that you and your families are doing well in this crazy time.  Although things seem to change on a daily basis, it looks as though we will be working in a virtual classroom for the foreseeable future.  With that in mind, I must make a few changes to how the class runs.  Please read below to see how to navigate the class from now on.

Communication

Please keep email use reserved for parent-teacher communication only.  Students can access Mr. Hernandez through the Microsoft Teams Page through the “Posts” or with “Chats.”

Assignment Submission

Completed work will NO LONGER be accepted via email.  During this transition, I have been more than happy to take work through email, however, I have received an overabundance of emails which has made it difficult to sift through.  For organizational reason, ALL WORK MUST BE SUBMITTED ON THE MICROSOFT TEAMS PAGE.

Students must submit all work through their Class Teams Page.  This page can be found through their school Office 365 Account.

To submit:

  1. Go to your Teams Home Page
  2. Find the Assignments Tab on your screen click on it
  3. Find the assignment you wish turn in and select it
  4. Click “Add Work” and upload you document
    • Note:  You may need to save your work to your Office 365 Account to make things easier.

I cannot accept pictures of written work from this point on.  In many cases, the answers and other content were not clear enough to read.  I gave credit for all assignments submitted this way thus far.  If you must write out your work, please scan it and upload it to the Teams page.

Attendance

Attendance will be taken WEEKLY by simply submitting all work due for the week, attending the Zoom meetings, or interacting with Mr. Hernandez on the Teams Page.  Students who do not “check in” weekly will receive and email from Mr. Hernandez.  Extended periods of inactivity will be handled by school administration, so please pop in and say HI!

  • Note:  Any of these methods will count for attendance purposes, students do NOT have to participate in the Zoom to be "present"

I apologize in advance if this causes any inconvenience but this will (hopefully) make a huge difference in streamlining things on my end.  While there will be extenuating circumstances at times, I ask that you keep to the new format as much as possible.  I am sure that you have many questions about what happens next, please feel free to ask them via email or Teams depending on whether you are a parent or student.  Thank you for your cooperation, and your continued support.

Whether you are safe at home or doing essential work, please stay happy and healthy.

You guys are doing great!! Miss seeing everyone's faces every morning!

Mr. Dan Hernandez
