Classwork: Receive HRC February; begin the final draft of your biography (see handout for directions).

Classwork: Continue Monster Project:
Part 1: Your Monster Illustration:
Draw a monster/alien the size of half of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. The monster should take up most of the piece of paper. Add background pictures into the remaining blank areas.
Color and shade the monster and background completely and write its name at the top of the paper. There should be no pencil on the final draft, and be sure to include your name ('s) monster, the date and your period on the back.
HW: R/R 10 mins; Continue Working on Biography Project (Outline, Title page, Works Cited, Final Draft) due Tuesday 2/11.

(In Class) Monster “How to” Essay
Title your paper: How to Draw (Name of your Monster)
Paragraph 1:
Begin with a grabbing lead that tells the main idea (thesis) of your paper.
Describe how to draw your monster (at least 5 sentences).
Introduce the next topic (transition).
Paragraph 2:
Provide a topic sentence.
Describe how to draw your background (at least 5 sentences).
Introduce the next topic (transition).
Paragraph 3:
Provide a topic sentence.
Describe how to color your monster and background (at least 5 sentences).
Provide a closing sentence that brings the reader back to your main idea. Don’t forget to use words of closing (i.e. “In conclusion,” or “In closing,”).
