How to mark cardboard with measurements for cutting.

so we are going to forget the new lesson today and then lessons going to be a little more Hands-On to do is ask you to make a skimmer a skimmer is a vehicle it's going to slide across the floor and you'll do that by play some measurement and some cutting the better your measurements the better your cutting your need a couple things to work with first thing I'm going to tell you who said of card when you're on my table so I got my piece of cardboard here what am I doing go ahead and lay this out so what use this creature fear that was created by the manufacturer to help me we to lay things out because the more manufacture portions I can use the better that you'll see that the width of skimmer is called out here at 3 in on the inside and outside dimensions first to create the outside layer for myself summer start by Mick starting at 4 in so I'm going to the upper corner here I want to use this piece is kind of beat up so I'm going to go and come in one inch and then I know it's going to be 4 in inside that's why that over and measure for in also know that I have a link to here the length is going to be on 7 inches so that means from this point over I'm going to measure 11 in over IRS is going to take me down most of my card for here Landmark that really colorful and I'm going to measure 1 + 7 so that means that from this point to this point is going to be 11 inches on my line all the way across her I still got my line going all the way and then I have my line coming down here cuz I want this to be right on forget I'm measuring used to check out again I'm going from here all the way till 11 and so that's my outside perimeter right there completely done okay so now I got to look at my directions right here and you'll see that there is a rail on the inside the engine on the top and on the bottom I'm at work at this happens more quite here so that point I'm going to come over I'm going to get right on my mark and Mark that at half inch I'm going to leave the same thing on the bottom here come down I'm going to measure in sing over here oven but the point I'm going to Mark here I'm here and I'm going to very lightly draw my line when are you thinking here Cumberland going all the way across so now I have the rectangular looking like that 7x piece I got to work on is this interior piece right here you'll see that that's at 3 in in please go ahead and by the two things and I'm going to use this line on the top here this is my mark appointment there and you can see that right there on what I want to do is pray to finish what I'm going to do is create rectangle and then create the scenes from there so instead of just making 1% of the time I'm going to duplicate the fan on the other side so I'm going to repeat it right here so I'm going to need a total of 6 inches to work with so I'm on my way here from this corner over and I'm going to measure over 6 in Cinemark that at the center at 3 right here okay and then from there I'm going to measure 3 in tall cuz that's the height of one of these measure from my line mrs. Also do that over here measure act 3 answers so that's why I'm going to draw a line between those two going to be from here who's going to make sure I come I'm not even try to measure 6 inches it looks like that and I have my rectangle done right here then I'm going to split up to create a the tale right here stuff I'm going to Cub Cadet 3 inch mark I am going to draw a line for myself in between I'm actually divided up in the next 2 in for rectangle chair and keep things make your measurements are correct here that are your measurements that are your skin was going to work I like that much better so there's my 3hr so now I got to measure up 1/2 inch and measure in a half inch from the side make mark so now I'm going to turn this corner to this corner and that's going to give me one more time and I'll come here finger crossed I didn't really like that line and do that again check my measuring again okay soda my two tails of this is the number one and number two okay last piece I'm going to lay out here is my air scoop Tommy Joe's have these piece on the sides that are wanting in the easiest way to create this is to create a another squared piece when this case I'm going to measure a Mark 3 that's my come to this Edge that I have for the Rye here and I'm using this for the manufacturer's cut here so if you have any sort of straight edge on a piece you're working with and it's manufactured helpful in terms of layout stop coming through here and then I'm going to come screams his hop also draw over Andover to give me the interior score so what does interior piece right here now I'm going to add these two pieces onto the side so I'm going to measure / 3/8 of an inch I only got one to 3/8 of an inch on ruler right there and then I'll come to the top here and measure / 1/8 of an inch you forgot to call audience right there Robert Sarver Pennsylvania Christmas Kindle so you'll see my pinky creasing size there from 1/8 like that make that a little bit sharper of an angle again I'm just coming in at 8 when Engine I'll go from 3/8 to 1/8 why do that I come to the other side do the same thing sum of the measures / 3/8 so it's like that and now I have my air scoop note on my air scoop this line Invicta and that's my layout done I have all my parts so I have my school my two tails factions and my main body and what is complete want to pause right there
