good morning to my introsem classes today April 27th and we are going to be hopefully you have entertained yourself and learn how to create a container house looks like someone were really good and I will be having those grades into your assignment this week we are going to ship we would be doing a different topic right now and one of the Topix would be doing why is Robotics and you be constructing a VEX IQ robot some of you may have use affects our hero bought while you're in elementary school we build them and they actually program them and so we can't actually do our building because obviously we're not in school but we can do is we can do a virtual robot hamburger the Vex virtual in order to create and program our little robot so I'm going to show you the Vex virtual world and then over the course of this week I'm going to give you some assignments to work on the vax virtual world and then you'll be able to share those with me and I can see if you are coding correctly so this is a dragon drop type program so it's not going to be for some of you in terms of what you are going to learn the sequencing of the code how to control a robot using the code itself so I'm going to switch over to the best virtual world here we are, this will be a link on the assignment and each time it will appear for you on as a list of Peace during the day so the first challenge going to be asked to do is it to look like this will say distance challenge all you switch playground do you tell you the levels that you required to go each assignment will have multiple levels some levels level 3 in some instances are going to be bonuses some are not found on the assignment it's so on that the arcade you'll see that there are a series of buttons on the side here these buttons will allow you change through different types of commands use drivetrain commands me to troll commands there are Samsung commands when are variables in operators so we'll talk more about those as we work our way through each piece across the top you'll see that there is a a final this is going to allow you to Florida a partially-completed one if you saved it can also save to your device you can say to the device and then you can send me the link for that you see they'll say I'm or you can share it to me over here a person you're interested in here is this grid portion right here if I close this you'll see the dots under playground so I can click on playground and it's going to open up this screen and it look if I run in now you'll note that this initially is going to be called grid map but if I select from the list. I just press the play button here and the robot will drive forward one square cuz each square is 200 mm and my phone reset that I can reset that to that position immediately okay if I'd like the robot to turn or last I can add a turn command and to do that I can just pull the go to be there. Come on out add my turn right command and and then stop command and yes I have play the role would drive forward it would turn 90 degrees to the right and then stop driving so you can see very quickly you can begin to build you can change velocity can go faster remember you can never go fast at 100% And then you can change direction so if we go back to our challenge for today the first thing and asked us to do was to drive forward Three Square so it says program your virtual robot to drive forward 3 sport how far should you park a robot you said you wanted to move three squares so if I go back to the iRobot my reset here I know that if I go follow r200 I go forward one square so I can adjust this how to get rid of something that is this number right here to go through Square so if I make that 600 3 x 200 Ruby 600 and I reset and I have play My Robot will drive forward 3 Squares and stuff so I just succeeded in getting him to try forward three squares and that's tougher send me your  to do in this birth defects virtual peace records it says go forward Three Square counseling will be to drive into a square how to drive around a complete Square so you have to actually draw a square drive runs for itself okay and all you have to do is drag and drop to get things to go in the correct position please note that if you want something to go in reverse you can click on the button and say go in reverse go in the opposite direction when I dragged over a turn and I say I want to turn right 90 degrees if I want to go a lot so I can change the left button right here and so that's good took program a robot now each time I've completed one of the challenges I want to go ahead and I can say Cher and you'll see that will download in the corner down here as a PDF so that is not been saved with my project number one house that is very simple for me then to go to my team's when I go to students I'll be able to upload into the teams and dr.
