good morning I have spoken to my design and modeling class in a little while hopefully you are doing well I'm getting assignments from some of you and I love you and I would tell you that you're really helpful to turn your assignment grades coming up weekend if your grade if you're not returning assignments and you are going to receive a grade that reflects that unfortunately because at this point I think I put a lot of material out there that is something you can complete at home it is not computer-related it. party to have access to the internet and you should all have that and if you don't I was going to call final can arrange for you to get a Chromebook so expectation is that your new year did you how information Taco hey this is called week I'm supporting my Northern Arizona University this is a small school in Flagstaff over smaller and of course I'm wearing a sippy this is the school that my nephew went to he graduated earlier in the year he is a northern Arizona alumni and was the quarterback of the football team by the New York Giants quarterback for at least he's attempting to make sure he gets one of those slots so good luck to my nephew case cookus look out for him on the New York Giants and again today NAU is on my shirt so this is a relatively quick lesson here I'm going to go over some stuff that you're going to need for your cardboard furniture and assertive been referring to this person's do some pandas have but I want to just go back over some information so I'm going to switch to a Microsoft screen and this is going to be available for you at the bottom of the assignment what we're looking at here is what's called a line with the sketch and there are a series of different types of sketches that you can do and this is really how designers communicate their ideas so the first thing I'll say is this the language of sketching as if it has a little bit what to do with you as an artist okay it's by transferring ideas not about being the next Picasso and all it requires is practice doesn't require you to have a tea party Mystic skill if you packed consistently you'll be able to transfer ideas from your frame on Tuesday to pay for so people can understand us and there are techniques for doing that that are used across the globe and that's the nice thing about remind me to schedule music I want you to know once you really can transfer anybody in any country in your language because you can transfer the information in the pictorial sense so it's nice to be able to do this and if you want to have any sort of design background then this is something where to go over these sketching pieces in the personal tuxbury here's a thumbnail sketch so it's very quick sketches that people do to transfer my Z on the paper and you know you hear about these ideas were you know someone scratched it on a napkin in a restaurant you know this is true what were they doing you know they were using the napkin to transfer their idea from their brain into their head and show some what they wanted and how they do that with a very quick down dirty sketch that shows basically one it doesn't necessarily have to be incredibly detailed with his has enough detail to convey an idea and the objects should be identifiable for someone who's who's looking at it so that's a thumbnail sketch quick sketch transfers perspective drawings are the different perspective drawings are pictorial representation what the object with looks like in a photograph so you get perspective that the I would get now that's interesting because you know that perspective is not necessarily what reality is of course in you realize this cuz if you standed a road that's disappearing into the Horizon at the picture that you've seen here or are you still on the same railroad tracks and looks into distance the impression your brain gives is that those lines come together things disappear when reality of course they do not but you're transferring that idea across there are two types of perspective drawing one is a one-point perspective a one-point perspective has you see all the lines will disappear at one point this is the railroad track affect okay so everything disappear so basically you can trace all lines from the context all the way to 1000 point a 2-point perspective on the other hand has two different Vanishing points for to give you a greater perspective on death and so you see there's not a Sandpoint one over here for the lines going this direction and then the other turn on laundry room, directions so this is very common type of perspective drawing so you get an idea where the Horizon has and it does not actually give you proper measurements okay isometric drawings are drawing you're already familiar with because when you're catching in when you were using Fusion 360 on what you're seeing a lot of sentence is an isometric drawing so it's often a quick drawing drawn at Angles 30 degrees and it gives you the perspective and shows you both the with the height and the depth of an object okay edges are parallel to the object and it's cold and isometric and there's isometric paper which is Mark 30 degrees I'm going to show you tomorrow that matches up with this orthographic projections of a different dimension do you have wood shop with me remember we did our box with had a pump front and side view so imagine that you're drawing the object from three different views top front and side okay and then you basically utilities Erase Me unfold the object so you can see the different perspectives so this is a very common type of drawn it's a multi-view drawing and it is very important because this is what industry to create an object because it allows you to see all of the medicines and on top of that it is contains what to say. It looks like the true size and shape cuz you can see all the dimensions if you were to how to apply for a patent you would have to create a multi-view drawing so all the objects that are out there with me today that have been planted in our protective of all submitted this type of drawing and I assume you can do if you can see 60 also so here's an isometric drawing right here next to an orthographic so you see that symmetric the orthographic view but they'll also show you an isometric view to see it but it looks like piece together okay so here is a little quiz so you did identify which one is which okay so you can do me a favor and you can identify the drawings just take a picture of it and then submit this with the correct pieces on there okay and then I'm going to skip the conclusion question you don't have to do this just tell me which strong is withdrawn okay so you can go back show me please and then just tell me which drawing matches which one okay thank you
