good morning to automation robotics class that we've had some difficulty getting everyone coordinated since the beginning of the trimester in terms of online activities over the course of the last week vaxxed has assisted Me by releasing a virtual world that will allow us to program a robot online and so you will see posted on the most importantly on the Microsoft teams page that there is now a link that will take you to a online program that will work on all devices so again this is a web-based program you know how to download anything and you'll be able to code are you not require any login however you should know that work cannot be saved so once you start working on something you should work until you finish and then you can go ahead and complete assignment I'll try to keep you a sign relatively small bites for you so that you're capable of completing something plays Among their throats on the short day so what I'd like to do is just give you a very simple lesson start you out let me get a feel for this virtual world and then you'll be able to upload assignment show me posted on Microsoft teams and you should submit Microsoft teams so I can go to Microsoft 365 account what's the teams logo looks at a logo for our class which is a little robot and then you will see the assignment there you can with me or ask me questions through that portal I will potentially we do some videos there right now we're going to focus on the Invesco studio so I'm going to jump to the code Studio here so you can see what it looks like so is our screen that will appear to you when you go to this site and again this link is posted this is X VR and you're going to see this is very similar to the stuff that I posted for you I'm switching to this because some people could not access. I cannot get it to work correctly so I know this will work on all devices so this screen contains some ribbon across the top sound has a share button a a start this playground button and then some tutorials to help you out along with files and then you'll see that there are block code here going down the side and so this is similar to scratch animal workout way through this to see that when you select a button and we'll move you down that long list and so this Andrade things we can do in terms of coding so the first thing you want to do is be able to go to playground so here's playground when I select this you'll see it opens up this right here when X found this just so that you can see it on your screen and what that's going to do is give me this virtual robot and I can move around its three-dimensional World here and check out my little road Issa a blended robot really is not a VEX IQ robot and that's the kind of the first thing people think of the our robot is in a blended online version something that can used with any of the programs you will see there a different camera views we can get an upper View and currently we are on the grid you can see I can actually change there's an art canvas Wickliffe this computer center there's a wall nazar's a number grid and will be using these over the course of the next couple of weeks we're going to start with the basic grid right here is going to allow you to operate so here I am in the grid and I want to get my little robot to function right here and to do that I'm going to kill him and he's going to fall of a code they sent information that I have so that is going to be when started this is one of your basic waking up signal for the robot and this would be a task you're going to get some code don't give it some code to work with seal senior if I say Drive price for 200 it's to drive forward for 200 m m and then I'll tell it to stop driving because I want to make sure I get it clean commands so if I want this robot to dry for now all I do is press start and the robot will drive forward 200 m m overhead to my overhead then hit play again my robot will drive forward the 200 m m so you'll see that that happens quickly so the first assignment they're going to ask you to do in playground I'm is under activities activities right here to take me and we'll see we're doing distance drive right here if you open up this document you will see you're going to be asked to drive forward 3 grid squares and then you are going to be ask to drive forward 6th grade squares and then you're going to be asked to drive back so you want to go forward 3 back for you. Just forward 3 and then you going to go forward 6 come back 6 and then the last thing you're going to be asked to do on this level is too program the robot to drive in a square so in this case asking for a 3 grid Square so I'm just going to walk you through this so you can figure out where we're going here somebody come back here so I'll reset here and you'll see that the first thing you were asked to do is drive but we know we know that one square is 200 that's already been set for us and we look here on the overhead and if I was to hit play aerobic has exactly one Savannah asking you to go three squares for obviously I could ask it to drive forward three squares by simply dragging three drive forward pieces into the menu here and give it three line so if that's the case and I can start doing go forward 1 2 3 I mean you can see the real jerks little bit as it goes and gets it through eat three pieces of code obviously is not the most efficient way to do that you can just drive in drop a piece off to the side and you can break quickly do the math here if you know if one square is going to be 200 m m and obviously 3 squared is going to be 600 ml he said here go back to my overhead and I drive forward he goes forward three squares or she whatever you like to do MMA so the next question do to drive forward 6 squares and driving reverse now I'll let you do the math on the sixth worth but if I drive over a second to drive forward piece you'll see that I can exchange this for reverse so at that point if I make this 600 reset and go to my overhead you will see that on my real but will drive forward can reverse up and come back so it goes forward and reverse okay the next item and asked you to do is to drive in a square so note that I can have it drive turn since so if I'm going to drive a square obviously that would mean a right turn you'll see it if I hover over here and I right click I can say duplicate so I can have to write code and if I duplicate I will get the same pieces of code that I already have so I'm going to say drive forward 600 mm turn right drive forward 600 mm turn right again again the reset and then I'll go over head and I'll hit play and you'll see me drive forward robot turns right 90° drives forward again now obviously if you are additional pieces to this you'll be able to complete a a square that is a free by 3 so you can figure out very quickly had to do that that is the next item that your again if I could my distance piece here you're so it says do you get three squares then do a 1/6 forward and a six pack and then do a a square by driving around now there are some helpful help here I'm going to ask you to complete one additional Challenge and that is I would like you to drive the perimeter so that things you will need to drive all the way around the outside all the way around the printers that is if you count one two three four five six seven eight nine 10 squares change of the math to figure out what is 10 squared and you'll need to create a route know when you have that done and you have your robot completing the tents where you can share this with me at this location right here so I can hit share and it will Download a pdf version I'm right here is xcode PDF so if I come up here that will open up and you'll see that now that I have the code that I just work with you can change the name on this so that your name is on here so my movie Vex code next car tax code number a mama streaming number one and that would be my name in the night so I can save that so now it has my name on there now I can go to teams and you'll be able upload the assignment in teams and I will see it turned in okay so this is not your version by the way this is my version but you'll see it there's an assignment in there how to code your robot and you want to upload the perimeter code and you're uploading the perimeter code and you will see that on this assignment okay so good luck with that if you have questions for me please use the chat icon here to send me bits of information I'll see that in the teams logo it will pop up for me and you can ask me questions okay thank you and good luck
